What is Corten?
Corten is construction management software for small and mid-size general contractors and subcontractors, built by Corten Technologies LLC in South Carolina. It runs the whole job cycle — bids, estimates, proposals, budgets, schedules, invoices, and change orders — in one place. What makes it different: Corten uses AI to pull data from the documents you already have and auto-fill your bid sheets and proposals, so nobody on your team retypes numbers that already exist on paper.
Who is Corten for?
Small and mid-size general contractors and subcontractors — from a one-person shop to an office of about 20 people. Solo covers 1 user, Crew covers 2–8 users at one flat rate, and General Contractor covers 9–20 users. Operations with 21 or more people run on a custom Enterprise plan.
What does Corten’s AI auto-fill actually do?
You drop the files you already have — sub quotes, receipts, timesheets, invoices, drawings — onto a bid or job. The AI reads each file, files it where it belongs, and fills in the vendor, trade, amounts, and scope. Sub quotes flow into trade worksheets and roll up to the bid sheet automatically, and the proposal drafts itself from your winning numbers, with the scope written from your subs’ quotes.
Everything is queued for your review — you check the work instead of doing the data entry, and it works this way for every user in your organization.
How much does Corten cost?
Three published plans, all with unlimited projects: Solo is $99/month for 1 user. Crew is $229/month for 2–8 users. General Contractor is $449/month for 9–20 users. Enterprise (21+ users) is custom-priced — email sales@cortentec.com. Crew can be billed monthly or annually. General Contractor and Enterprise are billed annually. Annual plans are billed once a year at 12× the monthly rate. One flat rate covers the whole team; there are no per-project fees.
Is the AI included, or is it an extra charge?
The AI is included in every plan at no extra cost — there is no add-on and no separate AI fee. Auto-fill and document extraction come standard on Solo, Crew, and General Contractor, for every user in your organization, and they are fully available during the 14-day free trial too.
Is there a free trial?
Yes — a 14-day free trial with full AI included, and you can cancel anytime before it ends. During the current beta program, signups who join through the beta banner on the site get 2 months of free access instead. Every account also starts with a guided look at a fully loaded demo workspace, so you see real bids, schedules, and invoices before you enter a single number.
How is Corten different from spreadsheets?
A spreadsheet can hold your numbers, but it can’t read a sub’s quote, keep a bid sheet tied to its proposal, or do change-order math on its own. In Corten, estimates convert to jobs, jobs generate invoices, approved change orders roll into the budget automatically, and every workflow is designed to take fewer clicks than the spreadsheet it replaces. One beta user’s proposal went from 4–5 hours of assembly to about 30 minutes.
How does Corten compare to Procore or Buildertrend?
Procore and Buildertrend are strong, established platforms — Procore especially for large general contractors and enterprise portfolios, Buildertrend especially for residential builders and remodelers. Corten is the automation-first option for small and mid-size contractors: the AI does the data entry (scanned sub bids become auto-filled bid sheets and proposals), pricing is published and starts at $99/month, and setup takes minutes rather than a rollout.

How long does setup take?
Minutes to be usable, same day to be operational. You set up your company profile, logo, and team, invite project managers and field staff with the right access level for each, and start logging bids. There is no training course or certification — and we offer a free 20-minute walkthrough if you want us to map Corten to your workflow (support@cortentec.com).
Is my data secure?
Yes. Corten runs on Supabase-hosted Postgres with every record scoped to your company — per-company isolation is enforced at the database level, not just in the app. Role-based access controls what each seat can see and do, and all traffic is encrypted in transit over HTTPS.
Does Corten work in the field, on a phone?
Yes — Corten works from any device with a browser: office, truck, or jobsite. Field staff can update tasks, punch lists (with photo uploads), and daily logs from a phone, and SMS field reminders keep crews on schedule without another app to install.
How do I get a demo or talk to a human?
Email sales@cortentec.com for a demo or a walkthrough, or support@cortentec.com for help — we respond within one business day. Every trial starts with a guided look at a demo workspace, and 1:1 onboarding walkthroughs are free.
